Razon's@Jupiter

It was a treat having dinner at Razon’s last Saturday night since it was rather a hectic day for Hubs and me. Razon’s is famous for their white halo-halo with only 3 main ingredients – macapuno, banana (saba) and leche flan. Instead of using the usual evaporated milk, carabao milk is used and gives it a nice thick consistency and good flavor. Aside from their well-known halo-halo, their pansit luglug is a must try. It’s similar to pansit palabok and differs only in the noodles used The former with the bihon type and the latter with the malabon-like noodles. Come to think of it, what is the difference between luglug, palabok and malabon? Hehe.

A complete meal for me has always 3 types of food. It would be something soft, hard/crispy and sweet. So for last Saturday’s dinner, Hubs and I ordered our favorites - sizzling bulalo (soft), sizzling sisig(crispy) and halo-halo (sweet). The sizzling bulalo usually comes with one piece of bone marrow and soft tender meat covered in gravy for flavor. It’s cooked just right so the meat is very tender. The sisig is our “crispy” food as it usually is. However, this time around it lacked that crispiness we like. The cook had a bad day perhaps? Dinner was finished off by a shared serving of halo-halo as we both know we will get stuffed by the first two mentioned.

I need not tell you if we enjoyed our food. The pictures say it all.

Kopi Roti at Makati

On my way to the office last week, I saw a sign that perked me up. Kopi Roti can now be located at Makati. The sign was posted in between New Bombay restaurant and Mag:net at The Columns Tower 1, nearest Columns building from Ayala-Buendia intersection. No construction activity can be seen yet but just knowing surely made my day as I am a Kopi Roti fan myself. I was eager to post this new found knowledge but I had to wait. Simply because I want to make sure that I didn’t mistake the sign for something else so I had to check it again. The sign was about 3x4 feet and was replaced with a much bigger sign which I took a picture of today.

At last, no more waiting for weekends to be able to drop by Katipunan branch on the way to Antipolo! Yay!
